Boos Hummel & Wegerich was founded in Berlin in March 2009. In 2016, we established a second office in Cologne, and in 2021 BH&W opened its third office in Nuremberg. All the partners in our firm have many years of experience in the energy industry. This ensures that we have a comprehensive understanding of our clients’ needs and concerns. The firm’s lawyers regularly publish specialist articles on energy law topics and are editors and authors in established specialist commentaries on energy law.

We have been working with a large number of our clients personally and in a spirit of trust for many years. We try to develop target-orientated solutions for our clients in constructive dialogue with other energy supply companies, energy consumers, municipalities and the regulatory authorities, but we also do not shy away from enforcing our clients’ interests in court if this becomes necessary. With Boos Hummel & Wegerich, we have many years of experience in court proceedings up to the Federal Supreme Court and have won important landmark decisions, in particular on concessions and grid acquisitions.

Our clients are municipal utility companies, regional suppliers, municipalities and numerous independent companies in the energy, heating and water sectors. We support producers, grid operators, brokers and direct marketers, suppliers, storage operators and commercial/industrial consumers of energy. We provide assistance to operators of e-mobility infrastructure and hydrogen projects. One particular focus is on advising municipalities throughout Germany on the implementation of concession procedures in the fields of electricity, gas, water and district heating supply.
